A genuine icon of eighties dive watch design and one of the most significant models in Heuer's history. The matte black dial carries Mercedes hands and lume plots that have often developed attractive patina, set against a black unidirectional rotating bezel with a lumed pip at twelve.

Housed in a stainless steel case with a screw-down crown and solid caseback, this is a proper tool diver rated to 200 metres. The reliable Swiss ETA quartz movement offers hours, minutes, seconds and date, and remains straightforward to service or replace.

Supplied on its stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp and diver's extension. The 1000 series sold in significant numbers for Heuer and continued to do so after the TAG Heuer merger, eventually evolving into the Aquaracer. Increasingly recognised by collectors as one of the great overlooked vintage divers.
